Breast Lifts
Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, is one of a number of cosmetic
surgery
procedures that can lift breasts to create a firm, fuller bust.
Breast uplift surgery will not increase the size of the breasts, but is often
performed during breast enlargement where a larger bust is desired, giving the
bust lift, firmness and fullness.
Breast uplifts are performed to reverse the bust sagging effects
that often follow pregnancies, weight loss and ageing. Drooping (ptosis) happens
when the breast's skin is stretched, resulting in a less youthful appearance.

Breast uplift surgery is performed under a general anaesthetic and will require
an overnight stay. You may also need to take a week or two off work.
The surgeon will carefully remove a small section of excess skin from each
breast to lift the bustline, giving the bosom a more youthful appearance.
If the sagging of the breasts is slight, the surgeon may suggest a "mini
uplift".

Breast uplift involves a one night stay in hospital. Small incisions are made
to reposition the nipple and areola higher on the breast with excess skin removed
from below. Following surgery you will need to wear a supportive bra. The stitches
will be removed between 7-14 days later.
It is usual to take around one to two weeks off work and introduce yourself
gradually to exercise over a number of weeks.
Full physical activity is only permitted one to two months after breast surgery.
After a six-month period, regular breast check-ups at a mammary clinic are recommended.
